It's important to note that a CDW is not insurance and rather, it's an agreement where the rental company waives its right to charge you for certain damages. The following are not covered under the CDW: Tires, windows, mirrors, keys or the undercarriage, nor does it cover personal injuries or damage to personal belongings. Additionally, engaging in prohibited activities, such as reckless driving or driving under the influence, can void the waiver. Before purchasing a CDW, it's advisable to review your existing auto insurance or credit card benefits, as you may already provide coverage for rental car damages. However, if you are using  a debit card or you are an international traveller purchasing the CDW is mandatory. The daily rate is $24.99.
